Programs
What is B Inspired Philadelphia?
B Inspired Philadelphia (BIP) is a non-profit providing after school programming to middle school students in North and West Philadelphia. Our goal is to strive for both equity and inclusion for all students.
BIP determines the needs/interests of students based on input by both faculty and students. BIP then seeks out existing non-profits who fit the criteria and hire them to facilitate that specific program. If a program does not exist, we create and hire the personnel to implement that activity. We function as both a conduit as well as a facilitator. We are continually adding partners and honing programs for quality over quantity.
Recognizing that food scarcity has a profound impact on our students, we provide a healthy snack during our after-school programs and a full lunch during our 6 week summer camp.
Today, B Inspired Philadelphia is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We continue to work with those 5 Philadelphia schools, which are all grades K-8.
These schools are:
the Dr. Tanner Duckrey School in North Phila
the Paul Dunbar School in the Templeton Neighborhood of North Phila
the Mary McLeod Bethune School in the Tioga section of North Phila
the Morton McMichael School in the Mantua section of West Phila
the Community Partnership School in the Brewerytown Section of North Phila
